On 23rd August 2023, at SOVICO’s headquarter office in Ho Chi Minh City, a meeting between UNESCO Office Ha Noi and SOVICO Group was held to discuss SOVICO’s CSR Fund Strategy and areas of priority.
The meeting was participated by OIC UNESCO Ha Noi Office Mr. Michael Croft, Madam Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of SOVICO Group, leaders of HD Bank, and focal points of UNESCO- SOVICO partnership.
At the meeting, the consultant team led by Mr. Martin Rama, former World Bank chief Economist in Viet Nam and current special advisor to World Bank president in Washington DC, after listening to the sharing of vision from SOVICO Group leadership board and assessing social engagement activities of SOVICO Group, presented a model governance structure with suggestions of prioritized areas of interests in education, innovation and creativity, and environment.
Both parties agreed that with the continued support from UNESCO, SOVICO Group will deploy pilot activities for the fund with principles of practicality, efficiency, and social benefits in the immediate future.
SOVICO Group is the first Vietnamese private corporation to become partner with the United Nations in 2020. Since then, SOVICO Group has collaborated with United Nations Agencies in Viet Nam- UNESCO, UNIDO, UN- Habitat- to implement meaningful activities engaging women and youth for a sustainable future of the country.
